This bathroom was fit into a third floor attic space. The attic had sloping ceilings, and the area where people could comfortably stand up was quite limited. An existing vent ran up through the center of this space, and we designed a column around it, which in turn became the outside corner of the shower.
The bathroom gets a lot of natural light, and a translucent door helped us to share some of the light with the adjacent hall. The faucets and shower have low-flow fixtures and the toilet is a dual flush model, all of which help to conserve water. The hand-painted tiles were actually left over from a kitchen renovation in the same house, but seemed to go well with the modern detailing.
