Minot Sleeper Revised 2011

The Minot-Sleeper Library is a nineteenth century Victorian ‘stick-style’ building, which is listed on the National Register. The project is in the center of Bristol, and the site includes a small butterfly garden, which borders on the Newfound River. The Library required meeting space and room for an expanding collection, as well as an elevator and an accessible entrance.

In the new addition, the accessible entrance and meeting room are on the lower floor, and can be used when the rest of the building is closed. The design extends the Library southwards, so the reading room will have river views, and the Children’s area will be next to the butterfly garden.
