David L. King Architects and Ray Dunetz Landscape Architecture are developing the new entry for the Duxbury Library. The design includes a sequence of welcoming informal spaces, which recall the natural landscape of Duxbury, and will lead patrons up in to the heart of the Library.
The forecourt, by RDLA, is landscaped with small âdunes,â and includes sculpture and an outdoor reading/ gathering space. Directional pavers flow in towards the entry, where the same motif is picked up in the lights of the lobby. The new lobby will be bright and welcoming, with a supergraphic showing a landscape of Duxbury.
